Independent Art Advisory for Private Clients
Buying art for your home should feel inspiring, not intimidating. As an independent art advisor, I help private clients discover contemporary Danish artists and acquire artworks that align with their space, taste and budget.
Buy Contemporary Danish Art with Confidence
Discovering new artists and finding artworks that resonates with your home and who you are is exciting. However, navigating the art world can be time-consuming and overwhelming, especially if you want to explore the many great artists working outside the traditional gallery system. My role is to guide you through a diverse field of independent artists, helping you identify high quality works that align with your space, taste and budget. Together we will discover art that you will love to live with.
Whether you are looking to buy art for the first time or build a collection over time, I guide you through the process of buying contemporary art in Denmark with clarity and confidence.
Art Advisory tailored to your needs
Each advisory process is shaped by the individual client and context. Depending on your needs and the scope of the project, the process may include:
identifying artists whose work aligns with your taste, space and preferences
proposing relevant artworks based on your interests and budget
facilitating studio visits and private viewings
supporting dialogue with artists and the acquisition process
developing a curatorial framework for your current or future collection
advising on scale, light and placement
Examples
If your art budget is around…
10.000 dkk
At this level, the focus is typically on acquiring one strong original work by an emerging artist.
Through an Art Discovery Session, I introduce you to independent artists whose work is rarely encountered through traditional channels, helping you invest confidently in a piece you can grow with over time.
This is often where new collectors begin.
30.000 dkk.
With this budget, we can take a more considered approach.
Together we define your aesthetic direction and spatial context. I conduct extended artist research and present a curated selection of works, often allowing for either one significant statement piece or a small dialogue between two to three works
I guide you through selection, acquisition and installation, ensuring the artwork integrates naturally into your home.
+ 80.000 dkk.
We often begin to look towards more established artistic practices and the advisory becomes more strategic and collection-oriented.
There is also greater flexibility in terms of scale and scope, allowing for more ambitious curation that actively shapes and define a space.
Alongside identifying relevant artists and works, I can facilitate studio visits and private viewings, creating direct encounters with the artists and a deeper connection to the work.
This is typically where we begin shaping a more intentional and long-term art identity for your home.
How to start
The process begins with a free introductory call. In this conversation, we will:
discuss your space, preferences and budget
clarify what kind of art you are looking for
explore how I can support you in the process
This is also an opportunity to get a sense of whether the collaboration feels right for you.
Following the call, I will outline a suggested approach tailored to your needs and the scope of your project, including a clear overview of the process and associated fees.
Pricing
I work with a transparent hourly rate and do not take commission on artworks.
This ensures that all advice is independent and focused solely on finding the right works for you.
Each advisory process is designed with care for your overall budget. As a general guideline, I aim for my advisory fee to remain below 30% of your total art budget, which is significantly lower than the commission typically included in gallery pricing.
